Allison Zabelin is a multi-talented musician who began her violin journey at the age of four, inspired by Itzhak Perlman's appearance on Sesame Street. Allison earned her Bachelor of Arts in Music Education from the University of Illinois, Champaign-Urbana, where she was awarded the Verna Townsend Music Award and Edward J. Krolic String Scholarship.
During her time at the University of Illinois, Allison studied viola under Grammy winner Masumi Rostad and held principal and section positions in the university's orchestras. She further honed her skills by obtaining a Master's Degree in Music Education from VanderCook College of Music in Chicago. She later expanded her musical repertoire to include viola, piano, and voice.
Currently, Allison teaches elementary and middle school orchestra in suburban Chicago. She maintains an active presence in the music community as both an orchestral and chamber musician. Allison's diverse musical background and educational expertise make her a valuable contributor to Chicago's vibrant music scene.
