Erin Updegraff is a dedicated violist who began her musical journey at the age of 9 through her elementary school's orchestra program. She pursued her passion for music at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where she majored in Business Administration while minoring in music. During this time, she studied viola under Rudolf Haken and performed with the Champaign-Urbana Symphony Orchestra and the Sinfonia da Camera.
Erin later earned her Master's degree in Viola Performance from DePaul University, studying with the late Rami Solomonow. In the Chicagoland area, she has performed with several esteemed ensembles, including the Illinois Philharmonic Orchestra, Northbrook Symphony, Park Ridge Civic Orchestra, Rockford Symphony, and Oistrakh Symphony.
For eleven years, Erin was a member of the Dolce Strings Ensemble, an all-female string quartet that focused on pop and rock music. This experience allowed her to explore diverse musical genres while fulfilling a lifelong dream. Outside of her professional pursuits, Erin enjoys spending time with her two young children, sharing her love of music and dance with them.
